Banana plant is really a gift from god for human being. All part of the Banana plant is useful. If you walk around a vegetable market, it will not look good until it has bunches of banana fruits and leaves. Also, any South Indian function will not complete without Banana trees tied in front of bower. Using banana leave for eating is a authentic way. Other parts like stem, flowers are being used for making curries and poriyal. Also it has lot of medicinal values. Trunk also being used for serving foods during functions. In Tamilnadu vegetable market we can get this stitched trunks in the name of â€Å“Thaiyal Ilai”. Its fiber being used for making wreath. If we start talking about plantain, even 10 pages will not enough. Lets see how to make very easy plantain stir fry.

Ingredients:

Raw Plantain - 4
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Coriander powder - 3 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
Salt for taste
Oil - 2 to 4 tsp

Steps:


Peel the outer layer of the plantain skin.

Cut the plantain into small cubes. Put in the water immediately after cutting to avoid turning into black color.
Bring the water to boil in a pan. Put the cut plantain cubes in the hot water cook for ¾. It should not be fully cooked.
Drain the water completely and transfer the plantains in a bowl. Now add chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, Garam masala and salt. Mix it well such a way to coat with banana cubes. Leave this mix to marinate for 30 minutes.
Now heat oil in a pan. Once oil hot, add marinated banana and cook for 5 minutes. Stir it frequently. Add one or two tsp of oil if required.

After 5 minutes it will be cooked completely and masala will coated well with banana. Coriander powder which we added will give nice coating.
Also the outer part of the banana cubes turns into crispy.
Now the tasty banana stir fry is ready. It will go very well with Soaked water rice, curd rice, rasam rice and sambar rice(bisibelabath).
