Poha, made from flattened rice, is an easy-to-cook, nutritious snack. Poha is easily digestible food and being rich in carbohydrates provides enough energy. Poha is also a good source of dietary iron. This dish is beneficial for pregnant women and children due to its iron content. Poha is also low in gluten.It is good option for breakfast if you have a busy schedule or are looking for less oily breakfast recipes.


Ingredients:


Onion -1
Green chilli-3
Tomato -1
Mustard seed -1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Ground nut - 1/2 cup
Flattened rice-1 cup
Oil-3tsp
Lemon- 1/2(optional)
Curry leaves- 1 slit
Coriander leaves- 2spoon
Turmeric powder - a pinch

Steps:

  1. Wash the flattened rice, two to three times and keep aside. Keep in mind do not soak.

  2. Heat a pan and apply three tablespoons of oil.

  3. Once oil hot, put mustard seed and urad dal.

  4. Once the mustard starts splutter, add curry leaves and green chilly. Add ground nut and fry.

  5. Don't fry till the ground nut become black.

  6. Apply washed flattened rice and stir gently.

  7. Put a pinch of turmeric powder. It's just for color and keep stirring it for three minutes.

  8. Finally, add tomato and onions and stir it.

  9. Sprinkle lemon juice on the Poha before serving.
