Raw banana fry or vazhakkai fry is  a perfect and spicy side dish for rice, made with raw plantains and other spices. It is a popular South Indian stir-fry recipe, and perhaps one of the underrated dry curry recipe prepared on a day to day basis. The recipe is easy and simple to prepare with an end to end preparation time less than 15 minutes.

Ingredients:


Raw banana - 2
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Garlic pods - 2
Salt as required
Oil for shallow fry
Coriander leaves for garnishing

Steps:

Take the raw banana and peel them lightly.
Slice them in thin round pieces.
Add Turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and give a mix such a way that masala coat with banana pieces.
Marinate this for about 20 minutes.
Then heat a pan and add 3 tsp of oil. Once oil hot add 2 crushed garlic pods and fry it.
Once flavor starts, add the marinated banana pieces and stir it gently.
Close the pan with a lid and cook for 5 minutes in a low flame.
Then give a gentle stir and make sure banana cooked. If  not cooked, cook little more time.
Finally garnish with coriander leaves.
Now banana fry is ready to serve for your curd rice, rasam rice etc.
